Biography
With bachelor’s degrees in applied science and law, Pierre began his career as a forestry engineer, before going into private practice as a lawyer, teaching university and serving as vice-president of legal affairs in a litigation division of a publicly traded (TSX) manufacturing multinational.
His wide-ranging areas of expertise include:
Mergers and acquisitions / Commercial litigation, strategy and negotiations / Ethics, governance and sustainable development / Intellectual property / Commercial and corporate contracts / Protection of personal information.
He volunteers as a consultant for Catalyste +.
Business acquisition and disposal
Guidance and support for negotiating, reviewing and drafting business purchase/sale contracts, including confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, due diligence and contracts to purchase a company’s stocks or assets.
Commercial law
Guidance and support for negotiating, reviewing and drafting typical commercial contracts: procurement, sales, agent, distribution, services, licences, leases, corporate charters and shareholders agreements.
Intellectual property
Guidance and support in protecting intellectual property assets, including trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright and trade secrets.
Municipal and environmental law
Guidance and support for municipal zoning and land-use by-laws, permits and certificates of authorization, environmental contamination prohibitions and activities with an environmental impact.
